Photoshop Elements 6 - Photos hidden?

Hi, I was editing a photo and try to save the edit version onto a separate folder. When I did that,the original photo does not show up in my Organize folder in Photoshop. I tried to reupload the picture but Photoshop tells me that the pictures exist. How can I get Photoshop to show all my photos.

I tried the ''show hidden files' but it doesn't work.

Well I assume you have saved the edited version under a different file name. So just go to start-search and find the original file name.

It's got to be there somewhere.

I have a bit of Photoshop experience, but it's mostly in basic modification of images and collaging them - I rarely do the advanced stuff, like layering an image, etc. Right now, though, because I'm the only person in my class that's a techie with Photoshop experience, I'm the one that has to make the cover for a class scrapbook.

My task is to get a picture of a desk, and then Photoshop words onto the picture of the desk, so that it appears as if the words were etched into the desk. How do I do that?

Here's a link to a tutorial that may be useful. Vary the fonts that you choose for each name and try writing a few free-hand with a small-size brush tool.

Remember, keep each name as a separate layer so you can muck around with blending/light/Filters etc without ruining your whole image.

You've got the picture of the desk, right?

Now open the picture in photoshop and use the ''text'' tool to type some text on that picture.

Modify the font size appropriately so that it looks nicely placed on the desk.

Use ''Edit %26gt; Transform %26gt; Rotate'' or ''Edit %26gt; Transform %26gt; Skew'' commands or both of them to nicely align the text with the desk.

Eh, that sounds sketchy. You can try purchasing through someone affiliated with an academic institution-- at a large school, they get bulk discounts (you can get the complete CS3 for less than $250)

If you are honestly into graphic design, there is nothing that comes close to Photoshop, the full version. If you are only an amateur who does not need to get into mega photo editing and all the wonderful things that Photoshop does, then I suppose elements is OK. It doesn't even do a tenth of the things that the full version does, however.

If you are serious, you'll get the real version of photoshop. If you only need to open PSD files and do extremely minor editing, then you only need elements.

I have this version PE 6) and the huge book on how to use it. I must say it drives me nuts. If you enjoy spending hours on unraveling all the instructions it is worth the price, but for ease of use Paint Shop Pro is better.

Depends on how u plan to use it and if ur interested in what it has to offer. If u enjoy working with pictures, and want ur pics to look as good as possible, photoshop is brilliant. Not only pics, u can design covers and simple figures and objects as well. Besides, if ur worrying abt spending that much money, u can get a torrent off the net for the entire software absolutely free :)
You might want to consider Paint Shop Pro as an alternative. I used it for years even when I also had a copy of Photoshop on my windoze box. Now, however, I use GIMP, which is free! Although it takes time to get used to GIMP and its features, it is worth the try considering how much it you spend for it.

To answer this question, you need to tell me what you want to use this graphics software for?

If it's just for simple web graphics design and editing, Photoshop Elements is probably sufficient.

If you want more complicated features such as air-brushing, creating special fx etc, Photoshop is more suitable for you.

Photoshop issues?

Hey, I'm just got the trial version of Photoshop CS3 Extended, and I'm pretty new to it (photoshop that is), and I'm having some problems. I'm not sure if it's due to it being a trial, but whatever. For some reason, my 'blur' tool is not working. Anyone know how to fix it? Or any explaination? Second, what is a 'smart object', how is it useful, and what can I do with it?

If anyone has any good Photoshop tutorials for beginners, let me know. I'm determined to learn how to use this program!!

As far as the blur tool is concerned, which one isn't working? There are no less than eleven listed under the Filter menu, not to mention the options available under the Blur tool on the Toolbox.

A ''smart'' object is useful when you have a number of different elements which you wish to combine into one, but still keep the ability to separately edit each individual element. It would enable you, for example, to move a complete object anywhere on the canvas, and then make any changes to the elements in the new location.

I have an old version of photoshop, photoshop 5.5. I've been trying to download brushes, but everytime a message pops up and says ''Could not load brushes because the file is not compatible with the version of photoshop.'' Is there a way that i can download brushes on to my version of phototshop? If there is a way can you please tell me how and where you got your brushes from...Thanks :]

you wont find pre made characters you will have to add the head as an additional layer, the help function in the program you get will help you with that.. photoshop is a good program!

Here's what I want to do.. I want to draw some doodles on white paper.. scan the drawings.. and then in photoshop remove these sketches and then overlay them on another background image.. so you see through the lines to the background. So it looks like I had drawn the doodle over the background image.

Is this possible? and if so how do you do it?

use magic wand to select all the white around in the drawing then delete it. then you could alt-drag the scribbles on to the picture. you need both pics open to do alt-drag.

Yes you can do it.....im a photoshop pro any help regarding photoshop u can ask me.

coming back to your question...(1) Right click on the doodle image and open it using adobe Photoshop .

(2) Do the same....open the Background image u want using Photoshop as well.

(3) Now that u have two windows open in Photoshop...One is the doodle and the other the background.

(4)Keep both the windows side by side by restoring the page size and just drag the doodle image on the background window.....or just copy the doodle page by pressing CTRL A and CTRL C for copy..

(5) Paste the copied doodle image on the background. You are done.

(6) save the image in JPEG format...

IF you still have problems regarding this matter...mail me the Background and the doodle image and i will do it for ya ....

You could try turning it into greyscale, try using things like filter-%26gt;distort-%26gt;pinch or filter-%26gt;render-%26gt;3D transform to caricature a face, and then use the paint, brush and pen tools to colour it back in. Just a case of experimenting until you get a result you are happy with.
