What resolution, dimensions, color mode and file type [ jpeg etc] should I choose in Photoshop for:
1] Images specific to web use
2] Images to be stored on CDs to be later printed at a studio
a) Album photos
b) Portraits to be hung on walls
c) Small size photos for official uses [example, passport]
3] Images to be used for desktop wallpapers or screen savers
Note: Please mention all the parameters [resolution, dimension, color mode, file type] for the above three intended uses.
Thanks !

1] Images specific to web use:
sRGB colour space, Jpeg, Gif or PNG depending on colour depth of the image. Size up to 1024x768 pixels. 72 dpi is the normal resolution.
2] Images to be stored on CDs to be later printed at a studio
Adobe RGB1998 colour space saved as TIFF files. Size will depend on the printer being used but typically 250-300 dpi and the image size is relational to the print size you require.
a) Album photos
4x6'' album prints : Adobe RGB1998 colour space or sRGB depending on the kiosk printer. JPEG or TIF depending on where you are having them printed. Typical resolution 300dpi giving an image size of 1200 x 1800 pixels.
b) Portraits to be hung on walls
Depends on the printer being used, the size of the print and resolution of the printer. The formula is Size = Print resolution (dpi) x print height (inches) or width depending on which axis of the print you are calculating. Adobe RGB1998 colour space.
